THAI BODYWORK

Thai Bodywork is a profound hands-on healing modality that has taken on many titles and styles of approach.  An approach based on the traditional northern style of Thai Bodywork as developed in the Chiang Mai Province of Thailand will be used with integrated yoga poses and applied knowledge of sound bio-mechanics that mutually benefit both receiver and practitioner.

TECHNIQUE & BENEFIT

Throughout the session the client is guided through a flowing sequence of passive postures.  In relation to other Eastern healing arts practices, Thai Bodywork enhances the flow of vital energy through energy (sen) lines in the body.  With soothing rhythmic application, the practitioner's thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet are all used in the employment of technique which incorporates a combination of myofascial stretching, joint mobilization, energy balancing, acupressure, soft tissue compression, and assisted yoga poses as together the client and practitioner engage in a dance-like array of graceful therapeutic movements.

Both deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, Thai Bodywork improves flexibility, restores movement, tonifies internal organs, releases tension, and promotes balance and well-being on a holistic level.  The modality is complementary to other treatments and therapies with techniques that can be varied to suit a wide range of individual needs and abilities.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION

Thai Bodywork sessions are 90 or 120 minutes duration and are performed on a large soft mat on the floor with the client fully clothed.  Comfortable loose or stretchable clothing should be worn that preferably covers the length of the legs and shoulders.  Sessions are available in home or in studio at various locations.  Please contact for further information.
